About

Welcome! I'm so glad that you stopped by to check out my porfolio website, where I have combined my two favorite things...a love of design and icy, sweet sno-cones. If you are interested, here are a few nuggets of knowledge about my life as a graphic designer and self-admitted sno-cone addict:

I was born and raised in the booming metropolis of Harahan, Louisiana. Ok, it's more like a tiny suburb of a booming metropolis, but luckily it is just a hop, skip and a jump away from one of my favorite cities in the world, the "Big Easy" (also known as New Orleans, for you out-of-towners). Most importantly, it is the birthplace of the beloved sno-cone.

["sno-cone (noun): granular ice molded into a ball or cone and flavored with a syrup" -merriam-webster]

As a kid, I remember walking to our local sno-cone stand (Droopy's) on those hot summer Louisiana days, where I would stand in a daze, staring at the bright neon lights and colorful signs around the long list of mouth-watering flavors. It was there that my two loves, design and delicious sweet treats called sno-cones, were born.

I am currently a graphic designer with the Baton Rouge newspaper, The Advocate. I have over six years of experience designing print and web advertisements for local and national clients, developing marketing campaigns and materials, paginating all sections of the newspaper, toning editorial photos, proofing color separations for pre-print output and providing support to a team of designers. Working in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment like a newspaper is challenging and fulfilling in many ways. I have learned to design marketing and ad materials quickly and efficiently without sacrificing the quality of my work. I am always open to new opportunities to grow as a designer, so if you're interested in learning more about by education and work experience for potential design work, please see my resumé below.
